A letter from Slovenia: Don’t Hunt us down!
Dear Mr. Jeremy Hunt,
As the UK foreign secretary you recently visited our beautiful country Slovenia and expressed your relief that Slovenia is not a “Soviet vassal state” anymore. This comment for the love of God or history does not make much sense. Why does British politics have this obsession with Russia and also Soviet era? Do you dream of being a communist just for one day? To pretend that you are not a Royal Subject? Or do you secretly wish to be hugged by Putin and cry on his shoulder? Is it the desire for 40 Russian ballerinas? Maybe you have snow or vodka envy?
You also made a comment about our “flourishing economy”. Do you know that a majority of Slovenian factories, companies and hotels have been sold out to foreign corporations? Do I blame the politicians like you? No. One has to have greedy immoral traitors at home in order to sell out the cream of nation’s economy. With the help of foreign investors of course, like those British investors who want to do the fracking in Slovenia and threaten the Slovene officials and activists if we oppose their “not-fracking-actually”.
Beside that you mentioned Slovenia’s remarkable transformation. What could that be? The fact that now we have open Nazi collaborators worshippers in parliament or a concentration camp denier as a town’s mayor in Radenci? Maybe that remarkable transformation is that we are a 3rd Word Market inside the EU for the Western states like the UK? Products sold in Slovenia are deliberately (!) of lesser quality because we are barely civilized for Hunts like you. Our politicians allow that, because the EU apparatus installs them. Very far from democracy, that is how we feel Mr. Hunt.
There is a great chance Mr. Hunt that your “elite” education made you think that Slovenia needs you approval. No, we don’t. Slovenian history lacks hoarding of money with slavery and colonialism. Feel free to deeply admire us. We were that developed centuries before the UK even thought about not killing native populations around the world.
Many Slovenians are against immoral politics of EU and NATO. I know Mr. Hunt that you cannot even imagine what socialism is – a great effort for human connectedness. Unimaginable for the UK where children are poor, people sleep on the streets, buildings burn because the cheapest is good enough for “not-royal” parts of the town, while the British Royals spend 100.000 $ just on “Duchess” clothes for one (!) visit abroad.
I express my sincere condolences that you still have to bow to the Queen and her entire extended family, which lives a life of a medieval ruler in 2019 and recklessly spends millions of public money much needed for chronic social causes such as homelessness in the UK. How developed is that for you Mr. Hunt? Or the mere fact that such a thing as “House of Lords” even exists today? In Venezuela farmers, cleaners and nurses debate politics in public spaces. That is why the colonialist powers like the UK and the majority of the EU indents to destroy Venezuela. Slovenian Foreign Minster Mr. Cerar acting as the EU puppet supports this evil plan too. Because the EU despises the working class and serves the corporate powers.
But hey! Please feel welcomed in Slovenia again, where above 1000 meters in the mountains, as we like to say, there is no sin. Try to experience the camaraderie of our small country (absent among our sold out politicians), good cheer and astonishing views! I sincerely hope that you will lose the urge to be “above” other people by being just above the clouds in the mountains. Then you might know what Slovenia is. The warm welcome is extended to everyone from the UK! Even the supposed Royals, no need for expensive clothes, we can just be human. I do not support the execution of the French revolution but firmly expect the conscious evolution to brotherhood of all humanity. What can we lose? Wars, exploitation, terrorism or poverty?
Let’s hunt solidarity together!
